Amazon sellers flouting

Seems many amazon sellers are flouting rules. See this attached selling above mrp. Why is the mrp department not acting on them. Its not an individual problem but systemic problem. Sellers are not having or not following guideline. more

I totally agree with Mr. Virmani suggestion more
The matter has already been discussed at large in the recent past. In my opinion it would be better to discuss on some other issues instead of repeatedly discussing on the same ones. more
You have to weight. The hero who promised swach bharath is busy with the election in Gujarat. Entire ministry is busy in establishing BJP raj in all the states. Once Gujarat is won and all the states come under BJP rule all country laws will be implemented and mera Bharath will become mahan! more
Does MAP has statutory status? I mean in common goods other than controlled items. Let me amplify. If I buy a product at MAP plus some X rupees and go to court. What will happen? more
MRP has got a statutory status and hence you can take up complaint for a legal remedial action. However, before you take up legal remedial action, it is advised to write to the seller asking refund of the excess amount and if not refunding, take up with State Controller of Legal Metrology. There is no need of any FIR to be written in such violations. The complaint could be taken before Consumer Forum. more
Dear Ms. Shweta Singh, Even though I am not sure under whose jurisdiction the enforcement of MRP falls, I feel that the matter has to be filed as "FIR" before the police station having jurisdiction over the location of vendor and a copy may be sent to MRTP Commission, New Delhi. There is no provision for suo-motto action for any violation of any law either in India or for that matter anywhere else. The problem of pursuing such cases elsewhere discourage people to enter in to such disputes. Considering that Amazon is international company, they will take action to delist that vendor themselves, if you point out to them. There is nothing that they can do to reverse the transaction and they may at best accept their collateral responsibility and regret the mistake. more
