Referring to the issues pertaining to Airlines, I would request local circle member to bring out a post inviting feedback from the members on the issues and root cause so as to take up with DGCA and Department of Consumer Affairs. One of the issue is convenience fee, cancellation fee, rescheduling fee and refund , charging fee under misleading terms like taxes etc. Another issue is inordinate delays in take off after the passengers are seated and one of the reason could be to avoid compensation to the passengers under the pretext that passengers have boarded the flight in time even though the flight might be waiting for passengers from a connecting flight. more  

Airlines are charging Rs 500/- as convenience fee for booking tickets On Line. This is just ridiculous and goes totally against the Prime Minister's initiative of digitising India. Actually there should be a discount for booking on line since it helps airlines to do away with too many booking offices and related staff. more  

The money involved here is a minor amount compared to what happens on most highways. You buy any soft drink , it will be sold above MRP on the grounds that the shop keeper incurs costs in chilling the product. Is this justified? We tend to ignore because we feel that it is not worth haggling for 2-5 rupees. I guess that airlines will charge extra for handling etc, pay taxes on that, & will be perfectly legal. At least we have a choice of not buying it. However, we should object to airlines even charging for seat allotment, not on first come first served basis. We are being slowly, but steadily, being exploited more & more. more
