Adultraded pooja items

Most of the items such as til oil , cow ghee etc are available in the market that are adult rated with similar material to make it cheaper in the market.
Usage of these items will harm the atmosphere and do not serve the purpose for which it is being practised during poojas. People should be careful and use pure material only if one would like to do the pooja in correct sense.
Further I request government to stop this adultration of pooja articles also along with other malpractices in the consumer sector. more

I had long before suggested that ANY ADULTERATION IN FOOD / MILK PRODUCT should be severely punishable including death penalty since it is a slow poison to our society. Up to unless a strong bill is made & implemented , nothing will happen. People will sell CHEMICAL MILK / GHEE / SWEETS & WE ALL WILL EAT IT LAVISHLY & INCREASE OUR MEDICAL BILLS ONLY. Health Inspectors will inspect & fill their pockets only. more
Every municipality has a large number of inspectors (who are paid out of our taxes) to check the quality of all consumer items sold in the market. I have never seen any such inspectors checking the quality of goods sold in the market. Many years ago I have seen in Chennai one or two such inspectors in hotels. They would come to the hotel, check one ot two item, fill their belly, take some briby from the manager/proprietor and go away. This is the job they do. Nowadays many items such turmeric powder, jeera powder, black powder, etc.etc. and many lazy modern women buy these items, not how much these items are contaminated. The state governments have been doing a great disservice to common man by allowing sale of these items. more
sir,I too agree with the views of sri hp rao garu but where to locate a buyer who sells genuine pooja items? Govt should take the lead of testing the items randomly at different places. The cost of Til is Rs 200/- and the til oil is being sold at rs50- per 1/2litre pouch.I am feared whether they are selling the extract of bones of and skins of goats and cows? more
Thanks for raising your voice on this, sir. My few cents... (concerns and suggestions) Concerns: 1. 99% of the camphor we get in the market is made from turpentine oil. The real camphor - pachcha karpoora is identified by very few though our scriptures are very clear on this. Even the poojaris use the synthetic camphor. Why are we burning some useless oil in our houses and temples everyday? 2. Most of the brands in market make Ghee directly from cream using imported machines, which is actually "fake" Ghee. Whom are we satisfying by this? 3. Same with "deepam oil" which is essentially(90%) rice brawn oil. It is more quantity than quality these days. The temples accept it quietly - where is the divinity gone? Suggestions: IMHO, the time cannot be more right for the the religious bodies to come forward together to make standards for all pooja items. There can be approvals including the packing(without plastic), purity, material to be used/not used etc. The focus is to be purity than the quantity which can be manged through common awareness programs. Of course, the government can help us by not politicizing such issues. It can start with a general circular for ensuring "purity" and edible/non-edible ID on all the items through the Govt body. more
Cow dung ash is used as VIBHUTI by most Hindus at religious functions. In the olden days people used to make vibhuti at their own homes. Nowadays people use what is available in the market. This vibhuti is almost always made at a place called PALANI (a religious town in South India). If applied on the body it causes itching. God knows whether it is made with cow dung or any other dung such as elephant dung, buffalo dung, etc. etc. It is advisable to stop using this vibhuti. more
