Aadhar Card lacunas…

While the poor of the country was not having a bank account till the Prime Minister came out with the Jana Dhana Yojana, many citizens of the Urban area mostly kept two bank accounts in two different banks.

Likewise, many people have two mobile phones, one is used for the work purpose and the other for the personal use.

Currently, Aadhar card has made it essential to link a bank account and mobile number for everyone. Fine. But can a second number and bank account be added extra?

For example, say I have one bank account in a private bank, which is my default account and one mobile phone number is registered with this bank. This bank account and this mobile number get registered on my Aadhar card.

Say, the second bank account is in SBI and this SBI account does NOT appear in the Aadhar card.

Suppose I registered the second mobile number with SBI, then I shall be in a position to use SBI’s UPI for payments using this mobile number.

But if I need to make the payment using my “Thumb Impression”, the same is NOT possible.

If the second bank account and second mobile number is also registered on Aadhar card, then I could be in a position to make payment using my SBI account with the second mobile number registered with SBI.

Ideally, the bank accounts too should have biometric recordings.

Maybe a brain storming is required from the concerned authorities, to arrive at a solution. more

Mr Mangesh, All bank accounts in the name of a person can be and should be linked with one Adhar card. Each account number in same bank will need individual phone number but one phone number can be used for different accounts in different banks. As far as payment based on Adhar card is concerned, I think you will need to designate only one account for this purpose. more
Dear Mahadev Dev For receiving subsidy you have linked a Bank account and Aadhar also linked to that Bank account. Unless you change the Bank account registered with the Gas Dealer, the subsidy will get auto credited to the said Bank account. You are free to link your Aadhar card to any of your other Bank account. more
Can not say, but for receiving subsidy confusion will take place. more
Thanks Sri Sasidharan. Your information on multiple bank accounts/mobile numbers etc. One more query: If one bank account is linker Aadhaar for getting gas subsidy, and providing Aadhaar number to other banks will have any problems? There will not change in bank account for the current subsidy. Kindly let me know. more
In all accounts already PAN is common link, AAdhar is a better link. more
