The main purpose of income tax is to reduce income disparity. I.e. To reduce gap of maximum and minimum income and to support poor who do not have income from those who have more income. Hence, income tax, g.s.t., and property tax is required. For the said purpose, income tax should be levied on all the income, irrespective of sources, I.e. Agriculture income also should be taxed. Further, income tax may be paid for individual tax or family income tax like u.s.a. Where, income of entire family may be considered and accordingly s may be low because when you support your family of 4 or 6 including parents and children, they will have to pay lower tax. I.e. Per capita income may be considered for paying family tax and levied accordingly. This will also inculcate the habit of staying together of all family members. more

I understand lot of people have view - income of all the family members should be added to achieve their target to extract money for expanses which they claim for the development of poor people. I differ. Is it my fault if a family has 10 family members but only one capable to earn, that too below taxable income. As compared to my family - my father highly educated - high salary group, my all three bothers, all highly educated - all highly paid, my one son and daughter highly educated and earning good. I learnt from my father and my son learned from me - cycle goes and goes on. It's in our genes - we have to study and work hard. WHY SHOULD WE PAY FOR THERE WEAKNESS? THE DIFFERENCE IS IN ATTITUDE - MY TAX AMOUNT IS SPEND ON SO MANY SCHEMES - BUT WHERE IS THE RESULT? THEY ALWAYS CLAIM SO MUCH MONEY ALLOCATED / SPEND - WHAT IS THE OUT COME? ANY SUPPORT FORM TAXED MONEY - FIRST AND FORE MOST CONDITION IS - WE ARE NOT GIVING YOU FREE. YOU HAVE TO RETURN IT ONE DAY. SO THAT, NOT ONLY THE RICH AND THE SUPER RICH ARE LOADED AGAIN AND AGAIN - BENEFICIARY HAVE TO RETURN AND HAVE TO RETURN MORE. For reasons - I never call Government pays. I always maintain it's my money, which is being wasted on so many schemes. THE MAIN JOB OF TAX COLLECTION IS TO MAKE SURE PEOPLE HOW ARE BELOW POVERTY LINE ARE ABLE TO EARN THEMSELVES SO THAT ONE DAY THEY BECOME TAX PAYER IN HIGH OR VERY HIGH IN COME GROUP. FREE GIFTS IS NO SOLUTION - NOTHING IS FREE FOR ANY ONE. You require a very good system for the same. Do we have the one - if yes? more

Sir, In the light of 'Pan-India GST implementation, soon ... What is the relevance of 'Individual Income Tax' at all? Whatever, an individual is earning as Income has to be used for all Goods & Services, which are appropriately TAXED. All Indians are indirectly/directly are paying Tax to Govt(State& Central). Now, even 99% Non-taxpayers will automatically be Taxed on all their monitory transactions. Why this Govt wants to keep Salaried & Retired, all the time embroiled in Income Tax Issues, at a 'Huge Cost to Exchequer' for Sick Income Tax Staff/Departments ... But who cares? more
