Why there is a difference in interest rates of PF and PPF? In my view only PPF should exist and PF offices be closed. The whole work should be done by govt banks. There is no need of this organisation. more

reg mr shakti singhs comment: EPF was done with good intention of creating savings for a rainy day for the employees. but consider the negatives. we have a huge organisation administering this about which there are complaints galore about corruption. to withdraw one's own money one had to bribe. and when one retires and there is big pay out it is alleged that there are payments to be made. non savers in any case took their money out under various permitted clauses. private companies often misuse employees contribution also and deploy those funds in business. if company goes bankrupt there is no hope ever of getting your money bank. when one changes jobs the account has to get transferred to a different office and that needs lot of follow up. if one is interested in saving for the future one can use NPS which gives tax benefits too and one's savings is under his control and one does not have to go from pillar to post to get back the money. people are nowadays expected to be more mature and plan for their own future and need for this type of huge inefficient bureaucracy is not justified. I have had interactions with this organisation and for people working in private organisations it is difficult to find time to interact with this bureaucracy. I do not think such organisation exists in advanced countries like UK and USA. more
