Normally, in all other banks, form 15g or 15h is to be submitted once a year, in April each year. That is sufficient and they will not deduct tax. Only s.b.i. says that every time you make new fixed deposit, roll over fixed deposit, mature fixed deposit, you must submit form 15g or 15 h. I do not understand why. Form 15 g or h is clear that during financial year, your total income is below taxable limit. Then why each time? That is also when all other banks take it only once. more

As far as I know in every bank you have to deposit 15G/H every time you make a new deposit. more
in my wife's case, they deducted the tax too. her INB is mapped with IT Bangalore. She is refused/discouraged by SBI to file 15G. But in INB she could file 15G. And that a/c is her Salary a/c. Software has surely got a BUG. On Tue, Apr 25, 2017 at 5:14 PM, Deekshitulu Kalaga < support@localcirclesmail.com> wrote: > more

If you read New format of Form 15H/15G carefully (which is in force from last year), It has provision to submit multiple forms during year and it is expected to submit new form on every new FD or renewal of FD as your expected income changes accordingly. Also there is field where we have to give total no. of Form 15H submited and total income including new form which needs to be updated correctly. However not all banks follow this practice as probably they may not have system supprot to update these multiple forms and updation of first form submitted in April gets captured for new or renewal of FD when new FD opened under same Customer ID. more
