Mumbai Traffic Police

Traffic management is very bad all over Mumbai, but highly so in Borivali west. The traffic outside Borivali station is so bad that it is difficult for even the BEST buses to stop at their regular halts. Lot of traffic jam is created by hawkers who occupy most of the roads during peak hours of evenings. Add to this, the auto-rickshaws park anywhere including just near the pavements making passing by on the side of the road difficult. This traffic jam continues upto Moksh plaza and into the jambli galli where hawkers occupy the pavement area making the traffic slow down drastically. Another point where traffic is very badly managed is near veg treat restaurant where parking of vehicles and irregular driving by drivers makes it bottleneck for smooth moving of traffic. None of the signals near the Borivali station nor near the link road near chikuwadi and Satyanagar area are manned by traffic police. It is often observed that autorickshaw drivers do not care for traffic signals at all and drive through the signal even if stop signal on. The traffic police appears highly inefficient in managing the traffic even though police station is just opposite the Borivali station and there there beat chowkis of police elsewhere in other parts of Borivali west. So, the traffic police must be made to man the traffic signals as autorickshaw drivers and motorcyclists are indeed a menace and they have to be made to understand the traffic discipline.

No proper traffic management. When you call traffic helpline (8454 999 999) they take your complaint but no one turns up on the location to clear the traffic.
