STRY DOGS ARE A MENACE. BARK CONTINEOUSLY IN NIGHT, RUN AFTER CARS OR CYCLES - POTENTIAL RISK FOR DOG BITE, SHITS AROUND WHERE EVER THEY WANT. DOGS WITH DESEASE ARE GREATER MENACE AND MOST OF STREET DOGS ARE WITH DESEASE. WHY CANT THEY BE PICKED UP IN MUNICIPAL VANS AND TAKEN AWAY? SINCE YEARS NONE HAVE COME TO REMOVE THEM FROM THE COLONIES.

Stray dogs are big nuisance. We do not know if they are sanitized. The group barks during day and night. Most often they disturb your sleep at Panthakey colony in Andheri east. Why are they not picked up in municipality wan?
There is no policy so no management of stray animals especially stray dogs. In my view MCGM has failed on all fronts to manage this city efficiently. Pathetic situation in all areas. Probably need to split it into 4/5 autonomous corporations each managing affairs of a smaller geographical /population.
Municipality has primary responsibility towards the well being of citizens. Under threat from the animal lovers the strays are let uncontrolled on hapless citizens. It is always a situation the animal lovers display their love for animals at the cost of others and neighbours. While it is not humane to torture or kill animals merely because they are strays, the mcgmust come out with a strong rule that the animal lovers must pamper the strays in their homes and not in public places. This would ensure the strays are fending for themselves and follow the natural life cycle. In today's context MCGM has washed off its hands on strays management and exposing children and senior citizens to serious threat of dog bites apart from providing a peculiar filariasis which gestates in dogs and cats to be transferred to infants and small baby through mosquitoes.
The stray dog management of BMC is pathetic. Day by day the number of stray dogs are on the increase. This leads to these strays chasing walkers, runners and bike riders resulting in dog bites and its consequences. These dogs bark throughout the night disturbing one's sleep. In my lane the stray dog numbered a few a couple of years back. Today they have bred to more than 20 and cause problems to all the residents
