More attention should be paid to the road damage specially after rains.

Upto last year the roads of Kolkata were maintained fairly well, but this year I see a lot of potholes and damaged road surfaces. Neglecting to repair the holes dug up by the various agencies, in a timely manor adds to further damage to the roads.
Roads are not clean. Garbage waste, Hawkers, construction materials, small shop & closed old shop in footpath, , different utility deparments unfinished works without restoration of road are a commom feature. We, the citizens, Municipal Authority, Local elected body are reluctant to look into it and not interested about cleanliness of of our surrounding. Except Heart of the city, all inner places are unclean . .
Are they maintained at all? The only focus of the authorities seem to be on increasing the number of hawkers who only dirty the roads. The footpaths are completely encroached by hawkers. After any repair work like setting pipes etc., the roads are just somehow patched up making walking impossible and driving risky. The expansion of the eastern bye-pass has been lying half done for years. The sides have now become parking places for trucks. It does not seem we are living in a civilized society.
Bengal is lacking in visionaries ,which is at the root of most problems here.Leaders are running after populism, showing their shallow thinking and mediocrity which has crept in thanks to leftist mentality
Need of the hour is to build wide concrete roads which is expensive at the beginning but pays in the long run. It's worthwhile to take loans for such infra structure development.Land is to be procured wherever necessary without any dogma, which has engulfed the mind of Bengal population thus obstructing creative thinking Infra structure development followed by industrial resurgence is the need of the hour and whoever defies this natural trend will only bring gloom and despair to the state irrespective of how many followers it has .Nature is no respect or of politics and who ever defies it will be discarded in due course just by the laws of nature.
