The train and coach indicators work but they show only the number of platform and name of station. Whenever a train enters the coach indicators don't display coach number. Despite the presence of Washing Pit line, 15715/15716 Gareeb Nawaz Express is sent to NJP for cleaning. Some part of platform is still without shed. One of two FOBs ends on the railway line and not at platform. The station is one of the highest revenue generator in NFR and hence should be redeveloped with two new platforms. Also making it a junction station and increasing scope of new trains will generate more income to railways. As NFR is electrifies, the station area can be used for electric loco shed and workshop. For this purpose the land of Indian Railways at adjoining abandoned Tegharia station can also be used. Stoppages of Amritsar bound trains are required.
