WILL HOWDY MODI SERVE ANY PURPOSE ?
Howdy Modi in Houston gets huge publicity in India. But, it is doubtful whether American media would give it similar importance. President Trump is going out of the way to keep Mr. Modi in good humour solely for America’s self interest.
President Trump wants help from India to extricate USA from Afghanistan tangle. He also wants India as a counter force against China.
Of course, Mr. Modi wants god relations with USA even as he tries to keep several other countries such as Russia in good humour.
Obviously, President Trump will lose interest in India and Mr. Modi , if USA can contain China on it’s own and solve it’s Afghan problem.
One more interest of President Trump is to get the votes of Indian origin US citizens in the forthcoming Presidential election.
Is it a case of mutual back scratching ?

All who are singing paeans of PM are doing so seeing only one side of the event which broadcasters have been regulated to showcase to Indian public. Recently during PM's Tamil Nadu visit, a Senior Doordarshan Official a lady official did not follow the diktat of showing Only PM's speech so she was suspended. more

Howdy Modi event at Huston is very positive for India as whole, US has definite interests to win American Indian's vote and Modiji has taken full use of it, nothing wrong in this, Indian's get the much due recognition from US Policy makers has come to India after almost few decades. World Press is not bothered in reporting about India only such event get's publicity of India to World Audience. I am presently in Australia on visit, most of the time there is no News coverage of India, only Chandrayan and Modi's US trip are indicated as passing reference, but for these Foreign press is not bothered about reporting India. Hope atleast now the Press Reporters will give due attention to India/ Mera Bharat more
