ARE EVERYONE TIRED OF LOCKDOWN ?

Now, it appears that both the governments and the public are tired of lockdown.

It appears that people have reconciled themselves to live with COVID 19, just as they have been living with cancer, tuberculosis, kidney failure, heart attack etc.

In India, 7 people die for every 1000 population in a year. This translates to around 75 lakh people dying every year due to various reasons such as old age, cancer, flu, accidents, murder etc. The death of around 3000 people or so due to COVID 19 , though very regrettable, does not add much to the overall death figure in India every year in normal times.

In future, people would try to safeguard themselves against COVID19, just as they have been doing so with regard to other diseases, accidents etc.

All said and done, people seem to have concluded that COVID 19 is a lesser evil compared to the lockdown at present time. Lockdown has achieved it’s purpose during the last 50 days and further extension of lockdown will only give diminishing returns, with decreasing level of cooperation from people.

Certainly, with development of drugs/vaccine to treat COVID19, it would look less of danger in the coming days.

Till a vaccine is invented and made available for use, the life of each one of us would not be the same as it was before Covid-19. We would not be able to freely travel, move or enjoy social gatherings. We could live with TB, cancer, swine flu etc. as they were not infectious like Covid-19. more
I don't agree with you. It is only due to government timely action that it looks controlled. Look at US where they are not following lockdown. Then look at us, what happened when wine shops are allowed to open. People forgot that the person behind and ahead of him may have corona and the crowd was dangerous. Got the news of all staff of PNB Loni road got corona infected as their one staff went to purchase wine. So I don't think people are ready to understand the danger of corona yet. more
Sir, Its easy to say live like Cancer or other disease but (COVIT 19) China Virus is invisible ememy and very very difficult to live with or keep a safe distance from china virus. We have to learn to live with it like our permanent ememy china. You are right to live with virus but the family with young kids are much afraid for their future generation. My openion is whenever you goes outside of your house always wear face mask and secondly face shield for securing your entire face. Further wear a cap. Wash your hand regularly or use alcohal based spray for sanitize your hand. One more thing when aany member of the family return home immidiately take a shower and wash their cloth in washing machine. Always keep distance of one meter. Wash the bottom of your shoes or slipper with water or spray alcohal everytime you return home. All the commodidity should be sanitize or if possible keep aside for 3 days at isolated place of your house. Thats all we can do to safeguard us. more
It should be a staggered exit with restrictions in place in containment zones and other vulnerable areas since infections are going up every day and doesn't seem to flatten at all more
