Why Modi Govt anti corruption drive not taking off

Arun Jaitley said that Vijay Mallya episode has brought bad name to Indian banking sector and private sector. It would have been appropriate if Arun Jaitley has also admitted that when Vijay Mallya flew away from the country, he has also taken away Modi government’s reputation for anti corruption drive.

Whether right or wrong , many people in India think that Modi government deliberately kept quiet when Mallya flew away.

While even the pledged critics of Prime Minister admit , atleast in private that Modi government has taken many meaningful initiatives on social , economic and industrial front, even the pledged admirers find it difficult to defend Modi government’s inability to effectively put down corruption in the government machinery.

While it is a fact that many steps such as coal auction etc. have been done in a very transparent way and top bureaucracy in Delhi are scared to indulge in corrupt practices, this cannot be said at the middle and lower level of the central government machinery in Delhi and other states all over India.

Corruption in the state level administration and amongst state level ministers continue to be rampant ,with Modi government unable to do anything to stem the rot.

It is a fact that the corrupt persons continue to go scot free and common man see no relief from corrupt conditions at any level in the government all over India.

Necessarily, Mr. Narendra Modi has to act decisively, as he is now seem to be responsible for all good and bad things that are happening all over India.

Prime Minister is unable to stop the corruption rot , since he has not been able to put fear amongst the middle and lower level of government employees that corrupt person would be punished and would not be able to get away. Whatever CBI does with much publicity is too little and people are not convinced.

Persons involved in corrupt practices should be caught and severely punished in a way that fear would be created in the mind of the corrupt persons. Common man should be encouraged not to submit themselves to corrupt practices and Mr. Narendra Modi should make frequent appeal to the people to expose the corrupt persons. It would be appropriate if he would devote his next maan ki baat for this purpose.

Modi government should also immediately take steps to constitute special courts to hear corruption complaints at district, state and central level that would look into the corruption matter exclusively and act as fast track court.

It looks that all the fair name earned by Modi government due to the good work in several spheres would be camouflaged due to the prevalent corruption in government machinery and extreme unhappiness of the people about the situation.

My view is it was goof-up by Banks, FM & RBI. Modiji is clear because he has no vested interest, but some in BJP Govt is going slow due 2 vested interest & non-cooperation by CORRUPT PUBLIC SERVANTS. The CORRUPTION by CIVIL SERVANTS is unimaginable and PUBLIC apathy is still prevalent. For Example Sugar Cane farmers not paid for 4 years in Tamil Nadu even though money has been given by GOI. more
The Central Government and the BJP think tank lacks proactive planning execution. more
