Why Govt bodies need intermediaries?
Wondfo, a Chinese company accused of supplying 'faulty' rapid testing kits to ICMR, manufactures it for $3 (Rs 225) a unit. Somehow, instead of procuring them directly from Wondfo, ICMR has engaged two intermediaries, who basically inflate the price by a staggering 145 percent.

We should keep patience before starting putting allegations, present government is maintaining proper transparency in regards of purchasing anything. We may see that there was a lot things, coming out related with Rafael deal, it was inquired under supervision of Hon. Supreme Court. There was nothing wrong. We should have positive towards government actions, everything is going in right way. We should feel proud that we are having one of the best PM in world. more

This shows OPEN LOOT of Govt Money by MCI and ICMR who even in such crisis want to make additional Moolaah at cost of PATIENTS and Clearly shows the callous attitude with Sick and horrible Humanitarian side of Savers (being praised SO Much by public). Cent Govt and Ministry of Health should take Very Strong Action the Committee Members of these TWO Govt Backed Apex Organisations. Now will the Ministry headed by 'DOCTOR' have gumption and courage to take proper legal action????? more

This was explained on TV as follows. The Chinese companies wanted 100% advance payment and were not ready to give warranty for correct functioning of the test kits. The intermediaries gave warranties and accepted payment after quality was tested and accepted. Since the kits failed, the intermediaries would not get paid now whereas in case of direct purchase from Chinese companies with 100% advance payment, no recourse would have been left to recover the money paid for faulty kits. Truthfulness of this explanation would have to be established in the court. more
