Two Business Entity on one PAN Card Number

We had our own unit with TIN for VAT and CST. So far this unit does only retail business. Now if we want to set up another unit in the same premises having both manufacture and sale activities of another commodities then can we add this unit in the same TIN and CST or we need to have a separate registration. But we are told that we cannot have separate registration because we have only one PAN Card using for both the units. more

Persons include Judicial Persons like, Companies, Firms, Trusts, Cooperatives as far as issue of PAN. Individual PAN is not linked to other incorporated entities who have their own idendity. more  
Please do not mislead. One person is allowed only one PAN cards and one person can have number of business undertakigs/ entities. Just like Tata Motors have so many divisions in India and abroad still they have only one pAN number and income from all divisions have to clubbed to file Income Tax Return. more

PAN CARDS ARE ISSUED TO INDIVIDUALS AND PERSONS AND NOT TO THE BUSINESS UNITS. FURTHER VAT NUMBERS ARE LINKED WITH PAN NUMBERS AND ONE PERSON CANNOT AHVE MORE THA ONE TIN NUMBER IN ONE STATE. BUSINESS UNITS AND PERSONS ARE DIFFERENT TERMS. more  
one person is allowed only one PAN number and is required to file one return of income showing income from all sources. In most of the state one PAN number can have one VAT TIN number. more
