Tough times ahead for Indian youth

Our population is at an all-time high and so is unemployment (even if not officially shown in percentages).

Here’s what’s making it worse:

- Lakhs apply for government jobs, but limited seats and reservations take away a big share
- Private sector is under pressure – layoffs, unrealistic salary expectations, long hours.
- Lack of skills in Skilled trades – our education system killed the core fields like Civil, ECE, Mechanical
- We don’t have a lot of support for youth to follow the passion and sports as a career
- Current generation small shops & local businesses are struggling due to e-commerce & quick commerce

It’s a grim picture. Let’s hope entrepreneurship and innovation become the path that takes India forward. more

Population is not a problem but mentality of Mantris are big problem, more
This is the era where all the big businessmen are making indecent money and the govt. is busy to enjoy all the power and corruption money. They are indifferent to the plight of public of the country and left the people to survive on their own. Mantris are doing all the unethical politics to remain in power by ruining all the constitutional institutes and the judicial system ,EC also having hands in gloves with the current govt.to make the people's life worst by every means. There is no sense of responsibility remained in Mantris, neither any accountability.I think not only in INdia, but whole world is facing same problem. Therefore, Capitalism should be now ditched and bring the communism and socialism everywhere to bring the general people in power. more
very true. population is perhaps the foremost worry of the country and sad part is leaders, babus, intelectuals are not courageous enough to accept it. otherwise will have to take action to control. more
Population is not a problem, only problem is that politicians are not interested in nation's problem ,they are interested in making their own wealth...Public and country is not their cup of tea. this is the hard truth, first we have to accept without being biased to any political party...Other govts. in past were doing corruption behind the curtain by not openly compromising the constitutional institues, but the current govt. is doing all the malpractice openly and that too is going on without any abetment from either Judicial system or President. And this is the saddest part of the present. more
Don't blame the population. Govt abd businesses need to make use of the population for useful work. Too many politicians, many without any value add for the country. Govt employees who don't serve citizens. Both these categories enjoy immense benefits without any real contribution. Slash the number of politicians. Why a corporator and MLA for award. One is enough, with responsibility and accountability. Redyce govt overheads. Increase number of on field govt employees to trap violators, upkeep of basic civic services. Improve govt schools and colleges with quality teachers and proper infrastructure. Improve conditions of govt hospitals. Drastically improve IT, with proper escalation, so that citizens can get services online. There are many more. Citizens look beyond IT and kushi govt jobs for work. All these will increase employment and revenues. more
Of late, Local Circles has become a 'grumbler's corner'. Sad metamorphosis from the earlier days when suggestions were given for the problems identified. Yes, problems are there but as people who are literate and possibily educated, let us suggest solutions too. Democracy is 'by' the people too. Otherwise, Local Circles posts become meaningless like other social media which have become a media for expressing one's frustrations, anger and other negative emotions. Often I see the same names coming out with these negative and often representing only partial truths and sometimes even untruths. Wonder whether such messages are agenda driven. LET US IDENTIFY PROBLEMS IN GOVERNANCE BUT WE SHOULD BACK THESE PROBLEMS WITH TRUTH AND SUGGEST SOLUTIONS. more
