Tax Notice
Over 100,000 tax notices have been issued in Noida regarding real estate transactions by IT dept. the one received by my cousin says wanting pan information for a transaction done by him through cheque. However the notice was received after the deadline date and threatens action if not responded by deadline. What should be done in this case? more

Elementary Vikram---simply forward the Pan number---late hai toh kya---atleast the info would reach the said authority---& you would have complied---period. more

Delay of week or so beyond Dead line is not of much consequence. Your reply has to be convincing that no black money is involved. more

Send a reply to Tax department asking more time to respond, stating the date of receipt with a scan copy. more

The date of receipt must be mentioned in the letter to be sent to Tax Authority, hence, there is no fault on time of the consumer. more
