Swatch Bharat - Govt. Bear Shops

Today there is a news in the paper that Govt. Is following Australia, Brazil and some other country to open Bear Shops in Gali/Mohalla.
Has Govt. ever audited the situation of the areas where these shops are already opened. It's really very very bad. These shops are near to schools and residential areas.
The young generation turning into DRUNKERS.
In our area I think the maximum income is of the wine shop only. I request Govt. instead of opening the new wine shops they should close the already existing shops from residential areas. more

It is really ridiculous that the government is thinking of opening beer shops in gali/mohallas. Has the government gone out of its mind? Or is it now desperate to earn money through taxes duties on liquor? Opening new shops means giving easier access to liquor for our younger generation. Also, it means law and order situation will get worse. Government should never even think of opening liquor shops in residential areas. more
Seems CPI has called for nation wide ban on liquor more
We really donot know about liquor, though our Vedic texts did write in detail.
Wine is fermented grape juice, like Cider is from apple. A moderate intake of red wine has proved to break blood clots and prevent heart attacks.

It is called Beer, Bier, Cerveza and commonly taken, around the world, as a mild beverage in chilled form to beat the heat or relax after strenous work. It is just fermented barley water and has the medicinal property to flush the kidney stones and keep urinary tract free.

What is tough and problematic is hard liquor - distilled spirits.

Now the problem is all these - wine, beer, hard liquor are bundled and sold in one outlet with names like Sri Krishna Wines !, Balaji Wines. Om Sai Vines. All over the world these are sold separately and usually they donot have god's names attached, with wrong directives.

So let us not jump to hasty conclusions, did you see the amount of Indian families cramming duty free liquor shops in airports, all over the world to carry back home that something special.

India does produce among the best of beer, wines. Karnataka has a simple wine licencing policy for hotels to serve only grape wine which is quite a healthy. Same time they have very strict drunk driving checks and we donot see "drunkers" here. Restaurants selling wine, cannot sell beer or hard spirits. It is usually women who are worst DRUNKERS as their DNA doesnot help hold liquor.

So we must try ensure that distilled spirits/ hard liquor is kept out of the reach of youngsters, for its damage.

Just by saying liquor is bad for health and ruins families is not enough, education must include both the advantages and disadvantages and upto the student to form an opinion.

To ensure holy names are not associated with liquor vends.

To ensure places selling liquor will have a board ...... Liquor shop or Indian made spirits.

Many Indians, (including some ex ministers) made great fool of themselves when flying
abroad, by getting stone drunk on free booze, because the reason we have not understood what are wine, beer and spirits. They feel they have escaped a repressive atmosphere of their homes and feel free to get high and loose control.

In the same vein I request that the unsightly shops selling that dirty yellow metal called gold which is torn out of mother earth using poisonous cyanide and smuggled into India, coupled with those silly pieces of glass called blood diamonds for which thousands are killed in Africa, all should be banned. So also the garish soaps and serials with actors drenched in gold etc, is it not sick ?

I am a proud Indian, sailed across the world for 24 years and feel we are very misinformed people, and lead highly pressurised childhood, with a lot of misconceptions. We must learn to face the truth and not live behind the mask. more
