STUDENT POLITICIANS IN WRONG PATH

Aided by a section of English TV media and encouraged by short sighted and self centred politicians like Rahul and Kejriwal, some students in a few universities who are politically inclined ,appear to think that they can become “national heroes” over night.

By painting such students as path breakers and giving them space in the media, section of media are doing great disservice to the overall progress of student community, universities and national integrity.

While a very large section of students want to pursue studies, acquire knowledge and build lofty positions for themselves in the life ahead ,politician students and self centred and short sighted politicians are trying to spread poison in the country’s psyche by spreading an impression that the entire student community is in revolt. This is not the case at all.

A microscopic section of student community, supported by section of media and short sighted and self centred politicians are destroying the progressive academic climate , that will have disastrous consequences for the larger interest of the country and the future of the fibre and fabric of India.

What is sad is that millions of Indians in various walks of life who understand the negative and self destructive atmosphere that is being spread in the educational centres are concerned about it and feel helpless and frustrated.

Government of India should have the courage and conviction to stand by the cause of quality university education, progressive climate in the university campus and should take all necessary steps to put down the motivated politician students, who join and remain in the universities not to study and acquire knowledge but to build their political career with the aid of section of media and short sighted and self centred politicians.

There is lot of scope for intellectual discussions in the universities on various subjects and such discussions and deliberations do take place. But, spreading casteist ideas and speaking in favour of those involved in anti national activities cannot be part of acceptable activity in Universities.

Certainly, section of media and politicians , who want to fish in troubled water , are driving India to a slippery path by abetting some politician students .

It was not the Modi government which mishandled the situation but it was the irresponsible media and the opposition parties who flared it up in a manner that this is a mis handling by the government. The very democracy is made a laughing stock. It only make us think that only if such a incident has happened in China how they would have handled. Universities should be made as technological center of excellence and not allowed to be politicised. People are claiming that we are producing scholars in universities like JNU but looking at the poor state of scientific excellence in this country and track record no one will believe this claim. Also such a subsidised educational environment only make the student reckless. College education should never be subsidised. more
While Modi govt is a better, where they fail is how to react to a situation. They should be handling it subtly and refined manner. But they go head-on collision mode. Time they change their reaction strategy. more
I should say this is mishandling of JNU issue by Modi govt.. and give opportunity to K. Kumar to be a national Hero..! Any way Modi govt. has to show some improvement in national building and divert this issue to somewhere else in positive side. more
A student at 29, following the path of extremists and a bunch of senior monkeys who are already into nation dividing activities in different names, but calls themselves as leaders to advocate his thoughts as freedom of speech - pity them! more
Universities are temple of learning .Instead these are becoming center where few students do not allow others to express their views or study. more
