Start Up India - start up harrassment
There are innumerable incidents of tax authorities issuing random notices to small, private companies over valuations at which they have received investment from a private investor. The very notion that there is one right valuation for a company is absurd. To pretend that the government is the best judge of this valuation and to use that as basis for persecution is tyrannical.

@Aditya- this is a very interesting and alarming situation- can you please share the main contention of the IT deptt so that as a tax expert we can provide our opinions on the same.Unfortunately biz valuations and valuations as per income tax act will differ and the govt will try to extract tax based on the valuation as per income tax deptt. There are registered valuers whom one can reach if they need to contest the valuation as per income tax act. more
