Scam investigation of scam
A scam of Rs 5500 crores in medicines ,equipments, ambulances in NHRM was unearthed in 2010. Two doctors were murdered and third died in mysterious circumstances in Lucknow Jail. CBI acted fast .Former Health Minister and a MLA send behind bar. Some drug manufacturer ,equipment supplier came under scanner. High court started day to day monitoring . GREAT SHOW.....
Not so great.....The main IO of CBI , a Dy S.P. came under cloud and his house raided. It came to light that hardly field level investigastion were done .
So started the COVERUP Scam.
Some 25 doctors (mostly lady doctors), not directly associated with NHRM , mainly posted in Mahila Chikitsalayas, or block level units, were send to jail for a vehicle scam. These field level doctors were supplied these vehicles for use by vaccination staff , ANM, Asha workers. Further they were asked to simply verify these bills and send it it hqrs for payments. Basically they were to just forward these bills. Infact some of them just wrote forward and signed. Most of these lady doctors maintained a logbook. CBI just charged them of part of the conspiracy to embellzement and send them Jail.
Now look into the real thing. The total payment in this chargesheet covering 29 persons is for 44 lacs. THIS IS LESS THAN 1 PERCENT of 5500 crores.
But today maximum effort goes in this chargesheet . Is it to divert attention from the main case? more

Investigating officers always lenient view as they are not from independent agency. More over no agency is faithful except count at present in this country. more

Transparency and localcircles must take these forward. If this combination can't address it, I dont believe anything can raise the matter. Also, if a TV channel or newspaper can be partnered with, it will amplify things. more

I really appreciate the kind of research and blog put up by circle member but really feel sad to the attitude to Shri Ashok Shital who seem to let it pass it off just by sloganeering. Lets have more discussion and find out an online portal where we can voice our grievances together. more
