Rules being changed for digital news

Cant understand how this can be good. Govt wants any digital news site having more than 26% foreign investment to bring the foreigners stake to 26% by selling to someone who is Indian entity. Restrictions of tv and print media brought to digital media. Is it a way to supress independent voice or get a dhanna seth who listens to govt to have a say in your news initiative. Very worrying. more

Foreign ownershipn in media might lead to subtle influencing against national interests. That is why this step has been taken. more
This is a very good step. Have we forgotten how TV channels having foreign hands create false, anti-Hindu and anti-national narratives. We remember 2002 Gujarat for what? Its riots, isn't it! But how many channels really reported the facts? Riots took place only after Godhra carnage. There have been umpteen number of incidences during the past 6 years wherein false narratives have been exposed and truth revealed. more
Why is this being done? more
We cannot give in to biased foreign media. National interests are supreme. more
Why so negative? Are you not aware of biased role played by foreign-owned digital news media, and aggregators like Google, Facebook, Twitter interfering in domestic politics? Even in the U.S., they do not behave like neutral platforms and their bias is clear and obvious, but we should be concerned that their tentacles do not extend to interference in domestic narrative. more
