Dear Jeep India,
You had plans to discontinue the Jeep Compass Petrol models as on May 2023, and in March 2023 you aggressively sale pitched me by sending your Sales Executive to my house morning and evening till I did not hand them the full payment. All this by hiding the fact that the model I am picking up is getting discontinued. You deceived me by selling to clear your stocks at full price and keeping the customer in the dark.
I would like to know why shouldn't a customer buying a new vehicle be informed that the said model is going out of production, there was no incentive to buy a phased out model. Is this a good ethical practice. ?
I will check with consumer / automobile code of practice, if it is fair to hide from a trusting customer about selling a car at 25 lakhs that is going to be dropped after stock clearance. more

Models may be phased out due to various factors. It may be driven from reducing exhaust gas emissions, policy to support hybrid models and electric vehicles. Moreover promotion of CNG variants may also be the driving factor. more

yes govt should ensure that whoever manufacturers in india should have the spare parts and service availabiity for a minimum 10 yrs depending upon the product and it will be good if the min no of years is defined by the govt in the notification together with penalty etc more

If cars could be sold, like many other items, with the date of manufacture and the date till its spare parts would be available at a reasonable price; purchasers would be able to make a well informed decision. more
