recycle plastic don't ban.

This plastic Ban must have affected so many people as they were totally dependent on this. Plastic is such a big convenience, it should not have got this treatment. What was necessary is the proper disposal and recycling after use. This is possible and a Nasik Municipal Corporation has started a plant for recycling the used plastic. there are organisations in Pune who are doing it. Government should reconsider their decision and ensure it is not thrown any where and recycled properly. more

The ban will not be lifted as it will become a prestige issue. Either the government wants money for elections or it has opened a pandora's box which will unfortunately nail their coffins! Why could they not have recycled the plastic after so many years of use? I agree that plastic bags which are not thick enough for recycling should be avoided but other bags? We bought goods from a store and bought a cloth bag from them to carry the goods. Within 10 seconds, the handle tore off!!! How many trees will be cut to make millions of brown paper bags. Just go to any reliance store and see how many paper bags are used and for what end? So sad! more
Support the ban for a while. Recycle what we have already but do not bring it back as daily use plastic in any form!! Please let us all wake up. Cows and whales are ending up dead eating our plastic bags. We are eating and drinking plastics as well as micro-particles! 30-35 yrs ago when we were younger didn’t we all use much lesser plastics I don’t remember seeing so many plastic products at my home. I used to take my own bags for grocery shopping. We hardly had any takeaway foods in plastic boxes. Even our kitchens used steelware to store grains etc. Today I drive out of the city and the hills are covered in plastic bags!!! Why can’t we support this ban for sometime and see how it pans out. If my house has a dangerous and festering problem I will First remove the source and get the situation under control Irrespective of how inconvenient it is going to be for my family. Change is always met with resistance, let us be winners and think like leaders who have an in built tolerance to change and pain. I don’t want my children to inherit this mess we have made!!!! more
Instead of installing recycling units and plastic colelction bins within a convenient locations and distances, government has used a sledhe hammer to sort out plastic problem. Afterall, government also collects tax to dispose the municipal waste. Had municipalities instituted plastic seggregation and collelction bins, this problem could have been avoided. Besides this, banning thin gauge plastic bags and disposable items is a totally accepted step. more
Plastics ban is a fools paradise .In many Gulf factories including Saudi Arabia, they have mandated that any factory processing plastics must have a recycling unit. Some units go further to have recycling units but use recycled granulated materials to make packing tapes ,strapping bands, and also ropes . That shows there is market even with recycled material in the world. If anyone has visited BHAVNAGAR in Gujarat, there is an industrial zone recycling all types of plastics to reprocess and manufacture plastic belts in different colors, decorative fashion belts/woven belts etc which are even exported to African continent. This recycling in Bhavnagar is in operation since 22 years that I know off having visited them on business. So it can be done but only there should be harsh rules to make any unit in Maharashtra to follow it also. more
Governments and Local bodies impose bans when they cant handle a situation. It displays the calibre and attitude of people working there. Any other responsible nation would have many recycling plants and garbage sorting facilities in place. But in India we have empty vessels making noise and nonsense. One day there will be a major revolt more
Yes. Ban of plastic use is very easy, right thinking should be to find out a workable solution. That's missing in the government officials brain. more
