Processions in delhi

Delhi is an excellent place to live, it is green, there is great space to move around and the people of delhi care about one another, but, one of my real concerns are the processions that happen in delhi due to religious purposes, marriage purposes or in fact any other reason. These processions cause major traffic issues and do not add any sort of value to the society. I feel that in case the people of this city want to express their feeling and celebrate on their occasions, it should not disturb the rest of the society. There should be specific places where these events must be allowed. I feel these processions must be banned on roads without any exceptions. India is a secular state, but we must respect other peoples lives as well. more

With BJP in power, all such religious occasions have become the root cause of most of newly emerged problems. Maha Shivratri is such a wonderful day, but the whole thing is ruined by the noise and drama made by priests/management of these temples. Only good news was Kedar-Nath gates opening soon. This is why Obama warned against religious hatred. This is why Modi is SO LATE in replying on this religious hatred issue. God knows what is coming under this BJP rule. more
I live in New Thippasandra, Bangalore. On the eve of Maha Sivarathri, this temple authority have shut down an important road by putting Barricade and a stage. All these people are influential with political background and as a common man we do not have strenght to fight. Our Police Dept is a mute spectator and not action is taken by them. more
I completely agree with you sir, any sort of activity which might disturb other members of the society should be strictly dealt with without any exceptions more
Same problem arises when temples in residential areas use loud-speakers THROUGHOUT the day for any religious occasion. As per legislation, there is a specific time within which loud-speakers are allowed. But in temples nobody cares and same continues till late night. This further gives a lot of problem especially to children who need to leave early for schools the next day. more
