President should refuse salary increase

One got the impression that Modi government has not understood the mood of the nation ,when it was announced during the budget presentation that the salary of President, Vice President and Governors would be substantially increased and the salary of MPs would be increased once in five years as a matter of routine.

Further, very recently the salary of judges have also been steeply increased.

Persons holding the post of President, Vice President, Governors and Members of Parliament claim that they are in public life serving the citizens of India and sacrificing their comforts. However, they do not seem to realize that around 25% of the national population live below poverty who do not know where their next meal would come from.

President, Vice President and Governors should know that they are the representatives of poor people, whom Mahatma Gandhi respectfully termed as dharidhranarayana
When steep salary increase are accepted by President, Vice President and others, they give an impression that they are not conscious about the needs of the poor people and are insensitive to their plight.

Certainly, they cannot compare their salaries to that of the business executives or even top level secretaries in the government and justify their salary hike.

They should remember that Mahatma Gandhi gave up his formal dress and started wearing minimum clothes, since the poor people in India could afford only this. President, Vice President and others who swear by the name of Mahatma Gandhi at every opportunity and pay homage to him on his birthday and death anniversary , do not seem to think that it is necessary to emulate Mahatma Gandhi in letter and spirit.

We should also know that President, Vice President and others live in huge bunglows with all facilities at their command and do not have to spend for food travel etc.
I only trust that President of India would set an example by refusing the salary increase and refrain from sending a wrong message to the country men, who look forward to him for guidance.

I dont understand people. why you all say no to salary to these service people. 1) You all want only millionaires to come to politics and spend their money ? 2) do you want people who live simple and humble and serve to the Nation and to you all? I am very clear that if i Have to be honest and sincere like millions of salaried employees who are honest to their job and live simple with in the salary then even I am ready to come to politics and live with in the salary what I receive. Not only that if i come to such political state i need extra income to maintain my status at least when in power. Hence as a public I need an person who is ready to spare his time and efforts to serve people at the same time I dont want an MLA or MP or President to beg for his family survival nor swindle to protect their family after the party come step out from power. After 5 years he will be on Road like in the past many sincere leaders and their family were starving for daily food because they were sincere and did not loot the public money also like what now a days politicians loot for generations. I recommend even a nominal pension must be there or a corpse fund is deposited to these MLA MPS..... which yield some monthly revenue reasonable to run their family. more
Automatic revision of salaries is fine but painful part is on middle class being cheated and looted by all the govts present an previous. Look at the education cost per child practically it is 10000 per month per child. As per constitution it is mandatory on govt to provide education up to secondary level. As an individuals we are fulfilling govts constitutional obligation. Then is it b=not correct that we shall get the full exemption for scool expenses. we are getting 1200 per annum hey ram save this I am agasht at the blind ness of this FM looter as usal more
1. Everybody in this country is on looting spree . Nobody wants to pay a single penny of tax . Even 5% minimum slab tax employees do not want to pay . They say , they have been cheated in budget . Retired Govt officers who did not work honestly while in office even for a single day in career are getting a pension ranging 50K to 100K PM ( Almost ten times their carry home pay while in office) . Businessmen do not want to pay GST . Politicians have made a rule for themselves that even if they attend Parliament or Assembly for a single day , they should get life long pension . 2. But nobody tells , where from the money will come for clean Rails , Airports , ports , Highways , free electricity , free water , free urea , free seeds , free security , secure borders , high profile no work Govt offices , TA & DAs of officers ,every six months employees DA increase as reward for no work and so on and so forth . 3. These days everybody is doing VOTE BLACKMAIL . Give me what I want otherwise I will not give vote . more
