Our three ills in the eyes of an overseas visitor
Once a foreigner visited India and when he returned back, somebody asked him to tell three things about India. He said – All time is tea time; all behave like doctors and every street-wall can be used as a urinal.
Although tea (especially herbal tea or green tea or tea with ginger and tulsi) is a refreshing drink, its excessive use (sometimes over 25 cups a day in office setting) is decidedly not good for health.
Giving medical advice when you are not a doctor is not only not in good taste but may sometimes be dangerous. This also applies to the eye care sector, as we don’t hesitate to pass on our near vision spectacles to someone who is finding it difficult to read a fine print.
And, although there may be lack of sanitary facilities when you are on the road, urinating anywhere is against civic norms. Fortunately, there is now no dearth of shopping malls; you may visit the nearest one, purchase the small utility item that you may have forgotten all these days, and attend to the nature’s call as well. more
