My son hardly uses his spects…

Here was this young lad whose one eye was little bit weak but the other eye was very weak.

His mother said that the youngster hardly used the glasses.

This is a common problem where only one eye is notably weak and the person doesn’t use glasses, as he/she sees almost well with one eye.

However, wearing glasses constantly in such a case ensures that the weaker eye is also being used and contributing towards comfortable binocular vision. more

I respect yoga for a healthy life style...but in my professional life of over 50 years, I'm yet to meet a yogi, over 50 years of age, whose distance and near vision in either eye is 6/6 and N6 more
Thanks. Dr. Narendra Kumar more
Dear Sir, Namaste. I would like to suggest that weak eye can be improved by yogic practice. more
We cannot compare the two cases. If one eye is very weak and the other slightly weak, and someone doesn't use glasses, then the weaker eye is likely to become lazy (and that needs to be avoided). On the other hand, if eyes are slightly weak for distance and quite weak for near (as in presbyopia), and someone doesn't use glasses for distance, it's fine - Dr Narendra Kumar, Ophthacare Eye Centre more
That also happen with bi-focal glasses when distant vision is 0.5 or less but near vision glasses are required for reading, when many people do not use spects. for distant vision. What will be the effect in medium or long run. more
