Nothing immoral in BJP forming government in Delhi: Amit Shah

I disagree 100%. Buying MLAs shouldn't be an option.

With moves being made for government formation in Delhi, the BJP may be veering round to the possibility of taking a shot at power with the party President Amit Shah virtually justifying such a course of action.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh maintained that the party will take a call once a formal proposal is received from Lt Governor Najeeb Jung while he ruled out his party indulging in any horse trading. The state unit of the party is said to be divided on forming a government without facing fresh elections but sources said the high command was inclined to give it a shot.

A final decision may be taken on the issue at a meeting of the newly-constitute BJP Parliamentary Board that may be convened early next week, sources said. Amit Shah told a television channel that BJP, the single-largest party, has the right to form a government as it has got the mandate in Delhi in both the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections and does not see anything immoral in seeking support for it.

"Our party got the mandate in the Assembly and Lok Sabha polls in Delhi, and we think that mandate stands. I do not find anything immoral in seeking support to form a government," Shah told Rajat Sharma in his 'Aap Ki Adalat' programme on India TV.

"Everybody wants to avoid fresh elections in Delhi," said Shah, adding that "BJP is the single largest party and it has the right to form a government." more

The recent AAP sting has made Delhi elections inevitable. Can LG explain how a new government can be formed without turning Delhi into a market for trading horses? BJP's attempts to come to power have lost moral legitimacy and by pursuing the dream further it will continue to lose whatever remains of its goodwill in the electorate. There is no provision for a secret ballot in the Constitution. What is the basis of inviting BJP? In all this uncertain mandate, the best decision to respect democracy is via re-election. more
The formation of government in Delhi is against the verdict of voters. All the three parties contested against each other's ideology. Any person giving support to other party is against the verdict of voters to that particular person as he has been elected based on ideology of the party on whose ticket he has contested. Any person giving support to the other party amounts to deceiving the voters of his constituency. more
Rajnath Singh ruled out his party indulging in any horse trading. Whether any party or any leader has admitted (ruled) that they indulge in any horse trading. DNA of BJP and its leaders is also not vary from any other party and they will also manage majority, anyhow without admitting any horse trading ....................? It is supposed dance of democracy. more
When Amit Shah says everybody wants to avoid fresh elections in Delhi on what basis he has has made this judgement ? more
Problem is no body in the current BJP Leadership want to heed to margdarshaks. The designations have been given to Ataljee and Advanjee to quietly fade away from BJP. more
