Noida versus Ghaziabad on cleanliness
So Ghaziabad rates 13 on Clean Cities list while our good old Noida rates 150.
I want to ask Noida Authority what is their vision to make Noida a clean city. Just by hiring some contractors to pick garbage or to clean streets you will never be able to fix things unless and until there is clear vision and metrics.
Go visit Sector 132 road between Jaypee Hospital road and Adobe offices and see for yourself. We have 100 such dump spots in Noida and you seem to be in deep slumber or turning a blind eye towards them.
Fine such plot owners 10,00,000 if you need to but get this garbage cleaned up. more

Shopkeepers are adamant in not removing encroachments because they say they pay the monthly "dues" to the Authority encroachment committee and the cops. And true, despite the raids by the committee, things have not changed for several years. In fact, post BJP govt., things have worsened on all fronts. more

The dirtiness is contributed to a great extent by legal and illegal encroachments. For example, in my sector, Sector 62 B Block, you cannot walk because Noida Authority has turned a blind eye to encroachment on the sidewalks - so you need to walk on the road, next to whizzing cars and bike, and pray you don't get hit. Then, on the backside of the sector, where CSC, Okaya etc. companies are located, half of the road has been cordoned off to allow illegal paid parking. Instead of forcing these office buildings to use the basements for car parking and encouraging the office goers to use public transport, the Authority decided to mint money by appointing contractors. During peak hours, it is impossible to drive over 2 kmph on these congested roads. Due to the space occupied by the encroachments, and these cars,no cleaning ever takes place in those areas, except for one minute spell of broom cleaning in the early morning. Shameful situation. more

I invite you all to visit my home RN 69 in RN Block of Sector 62. The dirt and crappy conditions will make you wonder whether you are in the wastelands of war torn Syria or Afghanistan. Then, good luck with getting sound sleep in the night. The humongous number of stray dogs keep barking and howling all through the night. Really regretting my decision to live here in Noida. more

You are absolutely right, but authorities will not be able to handle the problem alone. We need to instill civic sense in people. There are so many cars on high beam, people spitting happily wherever they like, throwing garbage on the street after eating from vendors and these people are neither naive nor uneducated. more
