Noida Police fails to protect Senior Citizens Need Training
Apart from hollow bombasts about their concern for senior citizens, Noida Police seem to have little knowledge or concern about senior citizens living in the town. Their lack of concern is obvious from the fact that despite a national movement to create a Senior Citizens Cell in all districts the local police has yet to set up one. I have scanned the net but have not come across any such cell in Noida. What is worse is the fact that almost all its personnel in the favor sector Thanas and chowkis are either ignorant of unconcerned and deliberately ignore the rights of the elderly.
Last week I had a post on this site wherein I revealed how the Chowki head in the Sector 34 Chowki was deliberately favouring a group against two senior citizens living in Nilgiri 3. He refuses to acknowledge the order of the Court which had a few years ago ruled that entry and exit of residents cannot be restricted. Even after the City Magistrate a few days ago ordered that the rule be implemented he has shown reluctance. Noida Police needs to get its act right. Police personnel need to be educated about their need to pay greater attention to the grievances of senior citizens.
The law very clearly lays down that no restricts can be placed on the movement of people, more so senior citizens. Will the senior officers of the Police look into this. more
