No tobacco sale within 100 yards of schools
The DM had said few months back that all school/college administration, teachers and parents are advised that per Section 6 of Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA), sale of tobacco products in an area within radius of 100 yards of any educational institution is prohibited.
Can't Noida Police and Authority in civil clothes conduct a drive where they go around the noida schools and shut any such shops on the spot? Would be easy traffic wise also as schools are shut. more

It is not reluctance of Police but, they are fully in collusion on such matters because, all such kiosks or thela's operate with connivance of Police. We see these people vanishing whenever there is a drive to check encroachments but they reappear within a couple of hours. The Police will never take action because they are beneficiaries in this trade. We need an iron hand to solve this problem otherwise this order from the Court will remain only on paper . more

Its valid point but problem here police is always reluctant to take actions against them, I have doubt police would do anything in this regard, as we know all the shops on side of road are illegal and I am sure some one definitely have some wasted interest with them. Apart from tobacco I have experience my self specially in Noida another critical issue. As per the law alcohol not supposed to be sold/served below 25 years. But in recent months I have seen that school students of class 10th and 12 were having their farewell parties in various pubs in sector-18. I am surprised nobody from police and other responsible authority don't even have feel of it ???? this business of spoiling our young children at early age flourishing day by day. more
