Good that sections of media are helping spread the words from the circles.

Kochi: The BJP think-tank on the social media ‘Local Circles,’ which recently came out with interesting findings on the status of the healthcare sector in the country, has compiled and published important solutions suggested by its nearly 1.5 lakh members for the ills plaguing the sector.

Mr Rajendra Pratap Gupta, who authored the BJP’s election manifesto and leads the campaign ‘Local Circles’ with the theme ‘Transform India with Narendra Modi’ had asked the members to identify the root causes and offer solutions.

The important solutions suggested include nationalising all private medical colleges and paying professional salaries and campus residence for all professors and teaching staff. They also say that the consultation fee of doctors should be fixed by the government.

The members say that the working of all the pathlabs should fall under a common law. All medical tests should have maximum standard rates for every state which needs to be approved by a standard government body and displayed in every hospital and clinics as a mandatory rule. Increase in prices should be allowed only through some governmental body and its approval.

Some of the members suggested emulating British health care system where every citizen has to contribute a part of the salary as social benefit and money is distributed for state and central healthcare system. A low premium-based health insurance policy covering all citizens of the country should be launched and the drive should be in line with opening of bank accounts in the Jan Dhan scheme.

Another suggestion is to give free tuition to 50 percent students if they agree to work for five years in rural India on a stipend after passing out. Medical representatives visiting doctors should be termed illegal. They should be directed to the administrative staff.

The BJP communication cell which controls the campaign plans a white paper on the issue which will be submitted to the Health Minister and the PMO. more

Private or government is not the concern of common man.Common man wants cheap and affordable medical assistance at nearest location. At present common man is bound to die because of no money. All doctors of government hospitals should provide medicines, test and consultancy free every day to 50 % patients visiting them privately. For others rates should be fixed 50 rupees. They neither pay genuine income tax to government nor give free treatment. They do not give receipt of consultation fees to patients in most places.Exorbitant consultancy fees.Rural service be made compulsory for them(private practitioners) for atleast 10 working day in a month upto the age of sixty. There are many more ways to improve medical services. more
I agree with Shailendra Gupta's posting. Govt has to think off stopping huge donations and aspirants should get seats on merit basis not on money basis G.K.Naidu, Hyderabad more
There can't be a worse solution than nationalisation of health care services. First fifty years of India has shown what nationalisation does to the quality of service and attitude of employees. It breeds complacency, and liquidates quality consciousness amongst the health care providers. Examples are state monopolies such as Oil companies, mammoth PSUs, PSU banks etc. With great respect, I must say that it is a thoughtless suggestion, the remedy being worse than the disease. more
GOVERNMENT HAS NO BUSINESS TO DO BUSINESS. Dear Mr Mehra. Kindly look into the present state of affairs of some of the Medical colleges and then suggest degressive things. It is a foregone conclusion that the Govt. has failed in the service Industry - beacuse it can not render quality services. Let there be competition in India among all the educational Insitution imparting knowledge then only we would get the best doctors and best of Enginners and so on. Govt. has no bisiness to do business. more
In addition to this , my appeal to think tank of BJP to bring all the private medical colleges under one umbrella to curb the illegal donations so that genuine brilliant students could get the medical seat for MBBS course on merit . Pl do in this matter in next session as earlier CJI ( Mr A.Kabir) has given a anti public verdict with the opinion of 2:1 which was criticism for few time as earlier Govt did not raise any appeal to review such anti public verdict .If BJP Govt will take initiation then every person including aspirant students seeking MBBS admission in 2015 shall definitely appraise the Govt like anything which will be a good sign among youth of India who are actually supporter of genuineness . more
