Many a sectors are very loose on MRP.Another thing is margin of profit in textile is very high.There has to be some rules and regulations. more

There are countless items in retail stores which do not carry MRP. Invariably, MRP sticker is tagged by the retailer. Majority of such items are produced by the unorganized sector. Even if some products carry MRP sticker by the manufacturer, what it is authenticity of the same. Many items are sold with discount upto 80%. See the cost of under garment (banyan). The quantity of cotton yarn and weaving does not exceed Rs.25/- but the selling price is more than Rs.100/-. Many of such products are sub standard. There is no system to check their quality (yarn & dyes) which is mandatory in many advanced countries. India lacks in almost every field as far as quality is concerned. The Indian products rejected by the importers are sold in the local market with impunity. more

Still lot of sectors are working in an unorganised way with no tax or price control with loss of tax for the govt .Present GST itself is not able to address the issue of overcharging by lot of companies. Hope govt takes cognisance of the issues prevaling in the various sectors more

Go to any Hardware shop, electrical shop, small fabric shop .... none will have the price printed, nor will they give you any bill.... Many Crores business is thriving like this even today with going through any notice to government and without any Tax payment. Which could otherwise generate lots of revenue to government. more
