The eucalyptus trees in city forest should be cut and 5000+ new trees planted but Noida Authority shouldnt cut forest and put concrete in the forest. It must not be converted into a park but a gated secure biodiversity zone.

the moment you make it a park, there will be concrete, trees felling, empty chips, and gutka packets and bottles of soft drinks. Wont let that happen. more

I fully agree with n the views expressed by Padam Law. . more
There is a big gap between people employed to look after planning and executing in regard to their aptitude? In agriculture, horticulture people proper aptitude only should be employed and hel answerable for certain period for their decision. Some years back during the time Mayawati trees in Noida were cut and the place vacated is not replaced with trees but left free for unauthorised occupation by transporters, mini hawkers etc more
I agree that Eucalyptus trees must be progressively removed, but I would also say that at least 50% more trees than those removed should be planted. I read news in today's TOI (dt. 28-08-2018) that the concerned Authority has decided that every builder must plant 4 trees for every Rs. 5 crores project value. "THIS IS STUPID TO SAY THE LEAST". What is important is that a figure on the number of trees to be planted has to be related to the open area of any residential project. We need to plant enough new trees to take care of the environment. We don't have to make 'JUNGLES" everywhere,.... do we? I have seen at several colonies that the number of trees are far in excess of the requirement in many residential colonies. This only cause lack of sunlight going to the apartments, makes it difficult to keep the living areas clean of leaves, etc. Often the cleaning process only results in the fallen leaves being swept into the drains, and choking them. Al street lights get covered by tree branches and foliage, so that even when the street light is operative, there is no light on the road. THIS IS STUPID. Planting of trees has to be planned and regular pruning of branches MUST be done, so that leaves do not clog the drains on roofs of buildings, because the trees have become overgrown. I accept that WE SHOULD NOT ALLOW TREES TO BE CUT, but we must allow the branches to be pruned. NGT does not seem to understand this. DO NOT CUT TREES IS A SILLY MOTTO. What about pruning branches to keep up the other facilities provided in residential colonies? more
