Medical Education

This is no solution and this will only incrase corruption. This is against the principle of " Minimum Government Maximum Governance".
The only long term solution is to open as many as new Medical Colleges as reqired. For short term we must "import" as many Medical practicenors and paramedical personnel, including our own country persons. more

gentleman to say it is easy but all these pvt colleges belong to political people can you think that Modi will do something if so what has been doen now in last 4 months today also they are charging huge donation and there is no control over the system. Why govt. is not doing admissions like that of Engg/MBA/Pharmacy /polytechinic etc Dr S.S. one has to see to believe how difficult it is to get admission at graduation level for the cream of students passing out of school. the more agony begins after passing out as mbbs to get into pg admission. forget one's passion or choice off stream. it is like a lottery if one gets admission in first two attempts. the super spacialisation admission is like god's gift only. in between the doctors pass through huge psycological burden and uncertain of their future. by that time their lesser peers from other discipline like engineering/ mbs are well established. is this what the best school students deserve ? the lop sided set up and demand of money in private medical institutions are another story ! there should not be any reservation in such an important study except for economic condition otherwise meritocrasy goes for a toss and misery of doctors persists. seats and facility in govt. colleges should be increased by leaps and bounds so that budding doctors are not solely depended on luck alone. mci is another case in point- which needs surgery to become transparent and efficient. more
A.P & Telangana got additional seats of 550 with marginal fees .As doctors requirement is huge unlike engineers, Govt should plan for more seats with more colleges to ban huge payments to private colleges G.K.Naidu (CE, MBA, AIMA), Hyderabad more
U all have no knowledge how medical college running without faculties. This year 42 medical colleges are not recognised by MCI. Govt not supporting college oweners must make partnership to govt all are fooling. How drs are recruited ? Fooling India by Managements and Administration and Ministers. more
Agree @OM PRAKASH AGARWAL (Social Activist, MBA from IIM, Ahmedabad). The solution to the issue be resolved with (a) short term measures (b) long term planning SHORT TERM .1.As suggested import doctors, source it from less expensive countries by liberalising work visa norms. .2. Start Start Double shift in existing medical colleges. Let the second shift be devoted to DMP/LMP/or in the words of Kapil Sibal- Bachelors in rural medicine (3year) courses LONG TERM. .1. Remove the medical colleges from the clutches of AMC(All India medical council which is a self centric body like our BCC) and bring it under UGC fully for all purposes. .2. Start new medical colleges(Teaching hospitals) at each Taluk(Tehsil)/Block level. Preferably build on the existing Tehsil hospitals to start with. .3.. Work all the Medical colleges(Teaching hospitals) in 2 shifts Training. .4. Let there be the MBBS degree as well as 3 year Diploma. Like we have diploma polytechnic colleges for Engineering profession. Remind you that during and immediately after the colonial era, we had this LMPs/DMPs. Once , the availability of Doctors increase, they will automatically flow to the villages for better pastures without even compulsions. Similarly , the ills related to over charging the patients etc will stop since there will be no more takers to the profession by paying 1crore to a seat and later after obtaining the substandard degree fleece the patients for their ROI. The MANTRA is increase availability and over come shortfalls. This Aspect have to be done on a war footing else the Public health care system will break down in the immediate future (5-8 years). more
