MAKE DELHI BETTER WITH KEWJARIWAL

In my opinion removing and dislocating stray dogs is a big issue in Delhi. Most of the streets and RWA are facing this problem. Please note that dislocating dogs ,killing them, beating them and driving them away by any person ,RWA or MCD is illegal and punishable with imprisonment in the light of Honorable Supreme Court judgement and Prevention of cruelty to animals act,1960.It is not advisable to request MCD and Dog catcher to relocate/remove stray dogs as these acts are against law.Further it does not control the dog population as other stray dogs move in to occupy the area.If you have any proof of the dog bites ,please goto the zone officer of area of your M C D and request get the dogs sterilized/vaccinated/neutered and release them back in the same area. One can identify sterilized dogs by seeing their right ears being cut at the tip.Further one can take help of Society for Prevention of cruelty of animals to take away irretrievably ill dogs by the recommendation of veterinary doctor. more

Well. I am an Undisputed Supporter of AAP right from the day of inception of the party in to Indian Political community.. Today i am feeling a bit ditched.. i don't know How many of the members of this group here are going through what i am going through..i.e. Last Couple of week..We have been facing water scarcity ..every alternate day..we had dry days..now its already been two days that we have received water.. is the ..AAP also turning to be yet another Political Party like others..who thrive to play all tricks just to win and..then...??? People of Delhi demonstrated tremendous trust in the AAP & Elected them with Never before record Voting..I agree there had been a tug between Center & Delhi govt. But We need to fight it out and put in our best to come out a winner..They Need to secure the trust of people of Delhi by good and constant developments & deliverance..No Doubt they did wonderful & never before things by reducing the power billing & free water supply to Delhiets.. but then ... forgot that they still have miles to go as & prove they are the best.. & it is not an easy task..especially with the powerful Stalwarts as Opposition in the Center .. ??? more
DOGS SHOULD VE STERILIZED to prevent further multiplication & vaccinated against rabies .Each dog should be coloured differently so that in case of bite it can be recognised easily so that the purticular dog can be watched for ten days to avoid multiple rabies injections. Those vaccinated or sterilized should be given a number /code which should be reflected on him in some way to avoid duplication. more
STRAY DOG POPULATION IS GROWING AT VERY FAST PACE, SHOT OF FOOD THEY ARE BECOMING AGGRESSIVE AND HAVE STARTED PREYING AT CAT, PEACOCKS ETC. SMALL KIDS ARE AFRAID OF MOVING OUT OR PLAYING IN PARKS. STRAY DOG POPULATION NEEDS TO BE CONTROLLED BY STERILIZING. BUT NOTHING IS BEING DONE IN THIS RESPECT BY MCD OR DELHI GOVT. more
The assumption that Rabies control is the work to rid street animals by the local bodies is an ancient concept and is often misleading. It is unscientific to expect Local bodies (assuming power & obligation as local authority) to handle rabies control. Rabies control is inseparable from professional tasks like disease ecology, movement of wild, feral and stray animals, behavior of the community, the changing life style which includes urbanization through town planning. Health, Veterinary and teaching profession has a direct obligation to mitigate carrier borne diseases and man-animal conflicts. The Depts. dealing with education, higher education, environment & forests, pollution control, agriculture, water resources, Suchitwa mission, regional town planning have their respective role. The planning board and the state secretariat has a vital responsibility to involve serious support for disease ecology, funding for hypothesis driven research and generating positivism in an increasingly onerous regulatory environment that inhibits collaboration among 50-60 dept. of Kerala. We must create new paradigms for funding and regulations for a wider disease ecology research (deficiency/ crisis/ hazard/ disaster-DDCHD) through an integrated multi-disciplinary approach. Media too hold a significant responsibility. The lack of specialized professional service and a general reluctance of govt. to create posts, to prepare a holistic project or appoint subject matter specialists (for educating public/ public men, study animal behavior, do minimal invasive surgery, do blood tests, PrEP, PEP etc.) and absence logistic support is virtually adding to uncertainty in man animal conflict. Panic among public is not the result of the law but its planning and application; this needs to be attended. Vested interests are finding it opportune to divert the holistic community concept ordained in the article 39 of the constitution of India towards economic development (a commodity concept) where emphasis lies on individual profiteering. Unfortunately failure to ‘protect and improve the natural environment……” etc. has a significant role in the man animal conflict including Rabies control. more
Street dogs should be taken good care of .At the same time we should protect common public from being attacked by street dogs which will inflict rabies. I had a close call one day when I was returning home late night and a pack of dogs were charging at me.I had a lucky escape when I pretended to pickup a stone to throw at them. But I did not actually pick up a stone. If I had been attacked ,imagine the consequences. We should engage services of associations like Blue Cross,SPCA and other like minded agencies to pick up stray dogs and lodge them in designated dog care centres and take good care of them.We can advertise so that dog lovers can adopt these stray dogs and look after them well. I have kept dogs when I was in independent houses. But since I am now in an apartment, there are restrictions and hence i do not have one. Recently I read an article which mentioned that there were no stray dogs in Norway.I did not also notice any stray dogs in US. I have seen notices in malls saying that dogs are allowed .These dogs are properly trained and their handlers ensure they behave well. They are even allowed in flights . more
