Jail Term for not printing revised MRP

My wife has been member of local circles and in 10+ circle. I have joined it today only.

Govt is saying jail term now for manufacturer if they dont print revised MRP.

This is not reasonably possible. Manufacturer has many distributors who have good stocks and in many cases 1000s of retailers across India who have stock.

How can a bottle of ketchup be brought back from across the supply chain back to manufacturer to print new MRP.

Can Govt please reconsider its decision?

I understand some departments are connected in these circles. Can this message be communicated to them? more

Sanjay Mittal Ji Govt. also considering the difficulties & has given time to exhaust old stock but if all manufacturer honestly start putting price tag with GST it will a great support for GST implementation, also if most of consumable item price goes down for common man it will really yield growth in turn over of manufactures also. more

it is not at all possible to change retail price on millions of consumer items by manufacturer...if so demand by govt.. it is idiotic eye wash . more

Govt must reconsider and give at least 1 month to implement, by which time the stocks are either sold out or called back to fix new price tag, but watch out , don't amend manufacturing or expiry dates!
MoF will handle this appropriately. more
