Indicators child has a vision issue

Rubbing the eyes
Rubbing the eyes when sleepy is a regular thing, but rubbing his eyes always even when he is not sleepy can be troublesome.

Headaches
Frequent complaints of headaches at the end of the day are also another red flag that he needs to get his eyes checked.

Shutting one eye and seeing
It’s different when he does it while playing. But if your kid is always closing one eye and reading or watching TV using the other eye, you need to be concerned.

Hates bright light
Bright light can be harsh for your toddler’s eyes if he has issues with his eyesight. There are chances that your kid sees spots for a long time after he moves to a less bright place.

Squinting
Some children squint just to irritate their parents or out of mischief. But if your kid is constantly squinting while watching television or reading, you need to take him to an ophthalmologist for an eye check-up.

Abnormal head posture
Is he tilting his head to one side and seeing? If he does it too often, you should be concerned.

Has to be very close to the object to see it
Most children with vision problems sit very close to the television or keep the books very close to their eyes while reading. This is because they can’t see properly.

Wobbly eyeball movements
Monitoring your child’s eyeball movements might be a little difficult considering you are constantly tied up with chores and your kid refuses to sit in a place for two seconds. But if you see any of the other signs, you might want to consider checking his eyeball movements for confirmation. If the eyeballs are constantly moving, it can be a vision problem or an eye disease.

Redness
Redness in the eyes of your toddler can be very scary since you don’t really know the reason. While you might jump to a conclusion that it is conjunctivitis or another eye disease, it can also mean that your kiddo needs glasses.

Pain in the eyes
The above signs can cause pain in the eyes because of which there are chances that your kid has a blurry vision. If your kid is complaining of pain in the eyes too often, then take him for an eye check-up. more
