Improve Public Transport and Infrastructure
.... Metro is a good facility, but it is completely stalled at night. Why ? Reduce the frequency, but let it operate. Or at least make it operational till 1:00 pm and start at 4:30 am.
.... Take the example of Mumbai. There are much much less number of cars plying in Mumbai. Is it that people in Mumbai cannot afford cars ? No. They have cars, but do not use it for commuting daily. Local Trains, BEST buses, Cabs and Autos are much handy to use. Alas ! This is just not there in Delhi. DTC is hopeless. Metro is overcrowded .. don't know why frequency cannot be increased during peak hours and provide 8 coaches ?
.... This odd-even plan of Delhi Government with the vision to reduce the numbers of cars by half, cannot be successful. There is a good number of people who have multiple number of cars and not all of them are used on the same day. One can use his car as per odd-even number days.
.... Does the government plan to limit the numbers of cars being registered in Delhi ? If not, you will see the car sales increasing as those who can afford, will opt for an additional car.
.... Is it that the pollution created by a diesel cab, a petrol car and a CNG car is same? To me, it is not. Then why use the same stick for all types of cars ?
.... Is this decision going to be implemented on thousands of diesel cabs which are registered outside Delhi but ply in Delhi for several MNCs and Call Centres ? If not, pollution is not going to drastically reduce. more
