Impediments of Indian Democratic System
The Bill for raising FDI limit in Insurance sector and Defence sector to 49%, if passed by Rajya Sabha will be a big step in increasing the flow of foreign funds to Indian Economy and raising the growth momentum. But as per the news in today's TOI, Congress which was expected to support this in Rajya Sabha has backtracked and now this may be referred to a committee for discussion and this way it will be put in a cold storage for 6 to 9 months. This is a strategy of Congress and Left to derail the recovery process.
The Central Government should try to get this bill passed by calling the joint meeting of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha so that such an important tool in uplifting the economic growth is not wasted. Further all important legislations like labour reforms, etc, in future, should be got passed through the joint meeting till BJP gets majority in Rajya Sabha also. more
It has mandate to do it... more
Not just fdi in insurance ,defence other reform bills such as land acquisition act ,labour etc can be passed by this method. more
Even if joint meeting is not possible a National referendum can be a way to go throug. Political parties can not dare to go against a good National referendum. more
There are always ways to get through . more
Once Congress was good and especially since 10 years our country had gone to worst situation due to corruption , scams, Dirty politics etc. Since NDA has got obsolute majority , passing in Lok Sabha is easy compared to Rajya Sabha. Opposition parties also should support for good cause otherwise let them take public openion through openion polls. Especially politicians/Political leaders should not hamper the progress at least in future years. No body should drag the issues on thier political motives and their self interest. Hope Congress and other State parties will support Govt for betterment of our society or our country.
