Illogical decision to prevent e commerce delivery of essential household items!
Friends While all of us, support the lockdown to prevent spread of Covid , the decision to stop e commerce Vos, from delivering other than essential items, poses some very important questions The state must prioritise to the poorest citizen but the vast middle class who have been the main engine of growth in the economy , is not being tapped. Many like myself and my spouse are sr citizens being 76 yrs old with chronic ailments .Deprived of part time BJP (Bartan Jdadu Pocha and cooking help )my Pre lock down order for dish washer from e commerce site,is pending since 18 March .Can't order a replacement mixie, as mine is defective,Or even easy long handled floor cleaner wipe to enable me to cook clean and wash is causing great hardship.Because retail shops can't reopen, the Govt decision NOT to allow e commerce firms to deliver household appliances ,otger than phones and comps, defies logic.Somewhat like cutting ones nose to spite ones face, the state is also deprived itself of GST and other taxes ,which would have helped the overall economy
It would have allowed a few more manufacturing sectors to reopen Think of the number of workers who would benefit down the suply and distribution chain .Any comments? more

Filter of my water purifier is showing Warning Alerts, but service providers have denied to visit as they dont have lockdown passes. Water being the most essential item, such services should be allowed more

I support lockdown 100% but why concede to demand of trader lobby VS urgent needs of millions of middle class consumers . We are all trying to cope in a unprecedented situation and, many of us need some assistance to facilitate working INSIDE the Home ,apart from WFH or working FROM home!Yogi last to take any initiative against centre's edicts ,so our only hope isCOVID numbers improve in Noida and NCR as a whole Stay safe. more

Thanks Ashish Managing somehow but some relaxation in getting essential household appliances delivered should be made for senior citizens living alone and women with small children more

I agree that no having domestic help is indeed problematic, specially for senior citizens. I and my wife are both senior citizens of similar age as yourself. However, we also have to understand whether having domestic help is more important than life itself? Letting people in whose living conditions we are not really aware of is a danger. So you can decide what is more important. Please remember, LOCKDOWN is for the benefit of the public. No doubt recovery from the after effects will be a problem, but we have to analyse, which is the bigger or more serious problem. more

Politics of trader support for ruling party known to all but what about the economy ? Longer the lockdown l onger the time taken for revival of the economy and benefits of the trickle down effect to re start! Need several voices to support opening all e commerce inphase 1 ,so that message reaches leadership. Today Kerala CM questioned by MHA about relaxation of lockdown in the state which reflects the advantages of having 100% literacy rate.It also supplies the best nurses to the rest of the country,an avocation shunned by women in other states. Wisdom does not rest within any one group of babus or with any one political party National interest is the only touchstone. ( retd.babu) more
