Here was this young student who was myopic to the tune of -8.00D in one eye and myopic astigmatic (-6.00DS/-1.50DCx180) in the other eye, who wanted to go in for contact lenses.

On the face of it, she required spherical contact lens in one eye and toric contact lens in the other eye, but on doing evaluation with trial lenses, she gained optimum improvement in vision with spherical lenses in both eyes…and this resulted in not only saving in the total cost but also freedom from unwanted induced astigmatism in one eye (in the absence of trial fitting and dispensing of lenses on empirical fitting).

Message for those desirous of being fitted with contact lenses: Go to a trusted eye care professional! more

Even if a person is not myopic (far sight weak) or hypermetropic (near sight weak) up to the age of, say, 40 years, he/she usually becomes presbyopic (near sight weak)...and if one is totally averse to wear spectacles (that are now available in eye-catching frames and superior-quality feather-weight plastic lenses), then multi-focal contact lenses are now at hand that take care of vision at all distances - Dr Narendra Kumar, Ophthacare Eye Centre more
What are the options available for correcting Eye sight for far , near & middle level which one encounters after 45 years naturaly because of age. Other then specs. Is it possible to go for lenses ? Generaly weakness of far , near & middle level sets in without spherical corrections. more
