Heating up of DTC green buses

these buses keep heating up all the time and then they break down abandoning passengers. It is a hazard as well as inconvenient. What is CM and his transport minister gopal rai doing on this? more

The breakdown of buses is a matter of improper maintenance. The buses are short and the round is more. When they reached in the depot. the concerned agency responsible for maintenance has got very minimum time for checking. In a short a period, it may not possible to get the buses mechanically checked properly. The snag may develop in the buses while on the route. Government is not responsible for such an event. Only one remedy left with the Government is to purchase more new buses. At that time more old buses my be allowed for proper checking. This is matter of demand and supply. Anything is possible with the running buses. There are chances, when the driver is not interested to have more round, at that time, he called the conductor to pretend that the bus is not in order. Government should check such an event and initiate action against the defaulting driver. Nobody think about the service but think about their salary. Government should pay heed to my suggestion and let us see how the wind blows. I expect more and more reform from AAP Government. Ram Yadav. more
Dear madam/sir the condition of dtc is good but their are some joks who spoil the dtc name as they take payment of good quality items but use inferior/used spare parts for repair and maintanance as well as engine oil and other items so buses are breakdown on the roads and a big reason for traffic conjection too it is my advise to mr arvind kejriwal and mr gopal rai to make a seprate centsalized unit for the buses spare parts and take damage parts from the deports mangers with bus nos and keep their record in their data base thanks On 9/1/15, Narayan Chopra wrote: > more
We had the same problem in Chandigarh when the chandigarh admn in 2013-14 was unable to find an indian manufacturer making quality buses which were fuel efficient, less pollution causing, (like the small vehicle manufacturers which have a lot of competition) low floor, AC etc. It seems the automotive research asscn of India (ARAI) at Pune has done no research for atleast 3-4 decades in improving diesel or electric vehicle technology in the ENTIRE country and is a govt of india, ministry of transport licence raj institution only, from whom all manufacturers have to get approval which is mandatory just for paperwork purposes etc. It seems to work like the redundant institution called the film censor board whose stamp is necessary for all films made in the country but after getting the approval, any nonsense can be shown in the film. That is why the socalled green buses are actually grossly over weight, over powered and highly polluting and badly maintainable. Such institutions as the ARAI need to be streamlined or closed as they serve no particular purpose and the RESEARCH aim of the institution is NON -EXISTENT. Furthermore more such automotive research institutions are required in the major regions of the country as research in vehicle technology is crucial for us to improve our energy efficiency and productivity, not to mention the environment. Tata motors and ashok leyland continue to make extremely heavy chassis for these vehicles which should be reduced if the govt had an iota of common sense people manning the transport ministry and there was one transport authority for the whole country instead of multiplicity of authorities at the central and state levels. Such dysfunctionality due to multiple authorities is the reason for good governance not being there in the country and India forever belonging to the third world tag--when other nations such as Korea, Japan, Singapore, Germany etc have recovered from traumatic events like the horror of world war 2 in just one generation or 2-3 decades. WE as citizens should demand such decisionmaking from our media and our leaders at both the local levels and the national level. more
