Govt needs wake up call on GST benefits
The LocalCircles survey that has been posted on GST benefits and in media is absolutely true for medicines.

yesterday bought medicines at our local chemist in Noida. though he has done business with us for 10 years he didnt pass the gst benefit of 7%
"mehnge ka hai sar usme hi bechenge"
tells me something is structurally wrong with what govt us trying to do. more

In short, the GST policy is well-intended, but the benefits often don’t reach the end consumer, especially in healthcare. Proper oversight, awareness, and enforcement are needed to ensure citizens actually feel the relief. more

Prices will even out as fresh stocks arrive. Shopkeepers are not going to bear the burden of lower prices on paid stock as there is no provision for any refund of differential tax. Most retailers carry GST paid stock and there is no provision for them to charge less. more

Better to check rates and go for another. There are two things. The shop keepers use diversionary tactics 1.Most drugs are made Generic - The sale price on them 2.( For any drug) Is printed with a rubber stamp - the pharmacy dealer ( each one sells- generic say @ 45/-( include tax),but retailer has to give 10% customer,10% delivery boy,5% turn over,and any IT,along with the rents, electricity etc. Hence - Try another a furlong away more

The shopkeeper who has purchased at higher GST has no way of selling at lower. The Govt has not made an provision for sold stocks more
