Good move by Delhi Govt

Utensils and wooden furniture will now be cheaper in the capital with the Delhi government implementing more than 7% reduction in the Value Added Tax (VAT) imposed on such items.

The decision was taken as part of the Delhi Budget passed in June. The tax reduction, which came into effect on Saturday, is for items falling under three categories—utensils or cutlery items made of metal (including pressure cookers/pans) except those made of precious metals, wax of all kinds, and wood and timber.

According to the government, it has been decided that VAT will be slashed from 12.5% to 5% on such items in keeping with the amendments made recently to Delhi Value Added Tax Act, 2004. more

Delhi: We all can clearly see that the moves by Delhi government is all for the betterment of Delhi. If we don't support AAP it will be a greater loss to us first. To all, we clearly see what odds are being put against AAP and that too just to block them at every step. No good answer is ever given to public why someone shouts against Delhi Government. Those who are defaming and blocking the Delhi government are the true enemies. To all who are in favor or against the current Delhi government: Time is difficult and getting worse every day. If we do not use this opportunity for the betterment of our state, no one will ever be able to make our lives easier. We have already crossed the time to stay relax and satisfy your ego. Those who once supported BJP, it is not a shame moving ahead from your stand. Forget about your ego and do it for yourself, do it for the generations to come. I must say it is not just a humble request but a warning for your own good. All of us who are posting comments here are smart enough to sense Acche din ka promise sahi nahin hai. It is difficult to appreciate AK for those who are in the BJP stand till today. At least start posing neutral and your own life will be benefited. more
We expect something more from this Government. However, policies are same as prevalent in the previous Government. This is good move and AAP should move on other front also. Ram Yadav more
Finally AAP came to power with a bang. What's now after that...Nothing significant got changed almost after 6 months in power. Not sure if AAP/Mr. AK committed some unrealistic stuff (to just be in power) or all his calculation went haywire once he came to power. Seriously it's totally unacceptable where on one side you are after Center to release funds and on the other side we are seeing larger than ever AAP advertising praising the party. There's an old saying " Let your work speak for you". Would be good if AAP think on these lines. Recently Mr. Bassi said in a statement that why AAP is cribbing to have them under their control. Let them first work on departments which are already under them. Once everything is aligned there then think of getting more departments under Delhi govt. This is a very significant point. Just announcing budgets for Health & education and putting big hoardings for that doesn't work. Execution is needed and thereafter monitoring. VAT reduction on furniture and utensils. You think Delhites are fools. How many furniture/utensil are purchased on bills. Or you guys actually believe that this reduction will be passed on to consumer. Not even 1 %. So no benefit for consumer. Guys high time, stop praising yourself on hoardings and FM. Stop thinking of other states. Get to work. Not sure if this post would make any difference in thinking or working of Delhi govt. but just wanted to let them know that general mood is changing which could have adverse effect in long run more
DO U THINK AK NEEDS THAT HEFTY BUDGET TO SPEND ON ADVERTISEMENT AND THAT TOO WHICH GLORIFY HIM AND HIS PARTY, DID ANYONE SEE ANY HOARDING WHICH IS IN PUBLIC INTEREST, DON'T U THINK THIS IS MONEY PEOPLE LIKE US WHO PAY TAX. PL CONSIDER THIS THE ADS ARE ONLY SELF OBSESSED........... more
