Fleecing by Ola and Uber

Sir, more and more cabs are converging to the the online platform .
But now when the people have started using them regularly there fares have surged. Most of the time we get 2x 2.4x and sometimes 4x fares.
Is there any regulator to control the maximum fare that can be charged or the common man will continue to be fleeced.
Please regulate the maximum fare that can be charged. more

It is the aggregators who play dirty by creating artificial scarcity and surging prices.... it should not be allowed any how. There is no reason for scarcity but the Aggregators send sms like Rs.50000 kane ka mouka and other luring messages to the drivers. more
What the online cabs have done is weakened the link with local taxi operators. As a result the dependence on these services have increased. And these online aggregators are now misusing the same to there advantage. more
If you are in emergency, you would pay anything; if not, you can always ask them to 'shut up'. more
In an open business environment like India, Govt. cannot regulate/ mandate the price to be charged by the service provider for business service unless same is regulated by a specific law. Specific law with reference to the issue under consideration cannot be made. It is market competition which must force the service provider to provide better service at reasonable price. If service provider charges more than reasonable, it will lead to entry of more operators, which in turn reduce prices. But if it can be proved that all the service providers are charging higher then reasonable by forming declared or undeclared consortium, same can be challenged under The Monopolistic and Restrictive Trade Practices Act, 1969. more
I suggest you opt for Ola cabs..they are much economic and their services are so prompt that the catch you in 5 minutes..! more
