Exorbitant Charges levelled by MSEDCL.
Sir, Recently it is observed that power supply in most of cities in Maharashtra is disturbed. Unfortunately MSEDCL is charging exorbitant Electric Bills to customers. There is no proper hearing, meter rider have poor vision to see proper readings, data operator do not have numerical ability to recognise difference in 80 units and 800 units. Superiors closed their knowledge cells to hear complaints. General common citizens are worried about the rising figures of electric bills which is not consume. In washim city we think that there is racket of mis billing and if the bill is not paid MSEDCL staff is threatening citizen by discontinuation of electric connection. Wrong/faulty meter report is not given to any of the consumer, if the meter is faulty already recovered exorbitant charges are not refunded. Third Party Auditor/Engineer is not appointed by MSEDCL to examine the faulty meter which are firing only higher and higher bills. Common man is bound pay and forget. It is inevitable to look into the matter by Govt. Of Maharashtra to protect the interest of common public. The servants of the company are acting like Judge. more

So long as people don't act, this situation will continue. Why not we all (affected parties) file a PIL against MSEDCL against their levy of charges? Even the bills must be of bi-lingual (additionally English) so that common man is able to know the various charges on different slabs. They are just looting their consumers under various pretexts. Let us all join together and try for a positive action. more

I too get huge bills & thoughI have complained about high meter reading, no action has been taken. Finally after a month I received a call & was told to go & put it in writing at the JE's office. I am 71 years old & itis difficult for me to go from office to office. Why can these things be done online? more

I feel that there is no transparency in any civic/utilities department of the government. this is due to the fact that the span of control of every civic officer is so wide that it becomes impossible for him to exercise any control or track things. so people at the lower end or suppliers/contractors get away with murder. I think government should have more people handling fewer responsibilities and their salaries should be linked to the result they achieve. more

MSEDCL is charging exorbitant bills.They have taken away paid meters to increase the slab on remaining meters of Navi Mumbai housing societies. more
