Eating Joint in Apartment Societies are Super Spreaders
I wish to bring it to the notices of DM that there is an eating joint running in a flat in Gulshan Vivante, Sector 137 under the name “Vaishnavi Foods”...the venture is serving the residents on demand. As per Govt instructions, all eating places are supposed to be closed on Sundays and to be shut by 9.00 PM. This place is flouting all rules and regulations. The staff works without taking and COVID precautions... there is no medical test, no checks on hygiene and sanitation....the society management had ordered its closure based on complaints by some residents but under the pressure from most users it was allowed to re-function with few hours. We would sincerely request the DM to take note of this and institute corrective measures to ensure security, safety and health of residents. more

In house catering is a good step especially for people used to eating outside. With the cases of Corona on the rise due precautions should be taken more

It is well nigh impossible for any civil admin to go into individual societies to check what is happening there, unless formal complaints are lodged. If residents themselves want the eating joints to run they should ensure masks etc are used by the staff. Closing down and running them with no precautions are two extremes, middle path is the way to go. As they say ... Jab Miya Beevi Razi, to Kya Karega Qazi. more

Supply to the needy from society’s flat on demand is definitely better than venturing outside for food by the residents and running the risk of getting exposed to infection; however , it is most important to ensure hygiene of food and staff engaged as per Covid protocols with strict verifications by society’s management. more
